Job Description

The Behavioral Health Epidemiology Program of RTI International has an immediate opening for an Implementation Research Scientist to expand a program of research in mental health, substance abuse, and criminal justice services research. Our research team emphasizes cross-institute, university, and community collaborations to advance understanding of effective treatments for behavioral health disorders across the lifespan. This position is available in the Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina or as a telecommuter with the eventual goal of relocation to RTI’s main office.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop independent extramural implementation science funding from new grants and contracts
  • Collaborate on existing grant and contract projects, as well as on submission of new proposals
  • Participate in ongoing Community Laboratory Resource for mental health and substance abuse services research
  • Participate in the RTI/UNC-Chapel Hill Consortium for Implementation Science
  • Participate in RTI internal proposal review process
  • Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals in lead and support authorship roles
  •  Prepare formal written reports for contract client

Qualifications 

  • Ph.D. in Social Work, Psychology, Health Policy, Public Health or related discipline, plus 2 years post doctorate experience
  • Additional training or experience in mental health services and/or implementation science
  • Record of impact on the field as represented by peer-reviewed publications and scientific stature (e.g., scientific review panels, journal editorship, etc.)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States
