Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Post Doctoral Fellow, for the Division of Population Science at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey in New Brunswick
The primary purpose of the Postdoctoral Appointee position is to coordinate the conduct of population studies research, including studies of health-related behaviors, beliefs, and policies focused on mitigating cancer risk, under the direct supervision of Principal Investigator Dr. Carolyn Heckman. The postdoc assists in ongoing research, with a particular focus on skin cancer prevention and tobacco control, online interventions, dissemination and implementation science, data management and analysis, and writing and preparation of manuscripts and grant applications. Considerable opportunities for mentored professional development including analytic skills for quantitative and qualitative data, writing lead-author papers, and designing, applying for, and conducting grant-funded research.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Doctoral degree in public health, psychology (e.g., health, social, clinical, or counseling), or a related field. Prior experience in cancer prevention and control or psycho-oncology research is preferred. Strong record of publications and excellent writing and statistical skills. Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
