TRAINING POSITION AT THE AARON T BECK PSYCHOPATHOLOGY RESEARCH CENTER

 

A full time or part time position is available immediately in the Aaron T. Beck Psychopathology Research Center under the direction of Torrey A. Creed, Ph.D. and Aaron T. Beck, M.D. We are seeking applicants with expertise conducting training and supervision in Cognitive Therapy (CT) or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to serve as instructors in The Beck Initiative. Successful applicants will train community mental health clinicians to deliver CT for adults or children experiencing anxiety, depression, anger, homelessness, substance abuse and other common behavioral health issues, in the context of large-scale training grants. Primary responsibilities will involve the implementation of CT in community settings including agency and therapist engagement, workshop, group consultation and ongoing support for sustained practice of CT. Treatment settings may include outpatient clinics, substance abuse clinics, schools, Assertive Community Treatment Teams, residential treatment facilities or other community mental health settings.

Applicants must have a Masters (MA, MS, MSW or equivalent) or doctorate (PhD, PsyD, MD or equivalent) in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, psychiatry, social work or a related discipline. Applications are welcomed at the masters, postdoctoral, license eligible or licensed level.  Applicants with expertise in CT/CBT or training/supervision will be considered, but the ideal candidate will have significant experience in both areas. Bilingual applicants are particularly encouraged to apply.
