Job Posting: Project Coordinator at the Center for Behavioral Health Services and Implementation Research at Stanford University School of Medicine

The Center for Behavioral Health Services and Implementation Research (CBHSIR) in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Stanford University School of Medicine, is seeking a Social Science Research Professional 2 to perform work that supports the federally funded Mental Health Technology Transfer Center (MHTTC) Network Coordinating Office (NCO). The NCO coordinates the work of 12 centers that provide training and technical assistance to the mental health workforce to increase the use of evidence-based mental health prevention, treatment, and recovery support services across the United States.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

 Assist in designing experiments, exercising independent initiative and judgment gained from completing a variety of high level assignments, including activities such as defining variables, formulating hypotheses, and selecting subjects, sources of information, or planned and coordinating experimental protocols.

 Interpret, synthesize, and analyze data using scientific or statistical techniques on topics related to mental health prevention, treatment, and recovery supports for use in Network publications and communications.

 Solve problems, and make decisions, which affect the direction of the research and result in independent contributions to the overall project.

 Select and apply standard calculations and formulas independently to compile data or process documents; often serve as a resource for research methods and numerical analyses. Lead the evaluation of the Network Coordinating Office’s services.

 Co-author sections of research publications and regulatory reports as needed. Lead the development and design of external outreach communications and materials for awareness programs using methods such as an internal news bulletin, external blog and social media tools.

 Provide coordination for national research workgroups designing mental health treatment technical assistance and trainings.

 Develop a communication strategy and tools for communicating with research partners.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Desired Qualifications

 Advanced degree in mental health, public health or social services.

 Desire to take initiative, solve problems, and handle substantial responsibility.

 Understanding of mental health prevention and treatment.

 Substantial experience with standard software packages including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

 Ability to successfully juggle and prioritize among multiple projects.

 Ability or interest in learning software for website maintenance, databases, and social media

Education & Experience (Required)

 Bachelor or Master’s degree in an applicable social science related field and two years applicable experience, or combination of education and experience in an applicable social science.
