Implementation Specialist at Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute at UNC-Chapel Hill

We are seeking applications for four new positions in implementation science and support at FPG Child Development Institute, UNC-Chapel Hill. Please see below for the position description and link to more information.

Implementation Specialists (4): The Implementation Specialist serves as a project area leader on funded implementation science project(s) at the Frank Porter Graham (FPG) Child Development Institute at UNC-Chapel Hill. The Implementation Specialist:

(1) delivers a range of direct implementation supports to community prevention coalitions and child and family-serving agencies to support their effective implementation and scaling of evidence-based prevention and intervention programs;

(2) assists with the development of implementation tools, measures, and other resources that may be useful to community and state partners; and

(3) engages in implementation research and evaluation.

The position will work closely with an FPG work group that includes Implementation Specialists, Evaluation and Improvement Specialists, Research Scientists, and Learning Design Specialists focused on the implementation and scale-up of evidence-based prevention strategies at population and system-wide levels. Guided by this work group’s theoretically and empirically derived model of core practice components, implementation support is delivered primarily to leaders and teams within community organizations and coalitions. Projects involve close collaboration with state agency and funding partners in North Carolina and South Carolina.

In addition to membership in this FPG work group, the position is also expected to be a member of the community of FPG Investigators. Expectations include productivity in implementation science and research; the development of implementation support resources; guiding systems policies and practices at state, regional, and national levels; engagement in institutional and professional service in areas of relevance to FPG’s mission; and evaluation of professional performance.

Two of the positions will be working with counties across the state of South Carolina and two of the positions will be working with counties across the state of North Carolina. FPG and these projects are based in Chapel Hill, NC. If you are interested in working remotely from South Carolina, you will have the opportunity to describe your ability to work from home and occasionally commute to Chapel Hill for project and team meetings.

Educational Requirements: Preference for a Ph.D. in Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, Prevention Science, Implementation Science, or closely related fields of study. In exceptional cases, a Masters in psychology, social work, public health, prevention science, or implementation science and seven to ten years of relevant experience will be considered.
