The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (the School) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is recruiting for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in the Division of Practice Advancement and Clinical Education (https://pharmacy.unc.edu/). The successful candidate will be based in Asheville, NC at the Division of Research within the Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC) to conduct implementation research and apply these principles into education and practice.

The School and MAHEC are part of the larger academic enterprise of the UNC Health Sciences at MAHEC campus, which also includes the UNC School of Medicine-Asheville Campus, the UNCA/UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, and Western Carolina University Nursing and Allied Health Programs. The UNC Health Sciences at MAHEC campus is located in beautiful Asheville, which is nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains and has a vibrant local arts and cultural scene.

MAHEC is dedicated to serving as a national leader in improving care in the areas of: substance use and mental health, pain management, women’s health, rural health, and geriatrics. In addition, MAHEC has a strong tradition and interest in interprofessional education, integrated practice models, academic medicine and rural health care delivery models.

This position represents an exciting opportunity to leverage the unique data resources of MAHEC to conduct cutting edge research and training in the areas of implementation science. The person will help to support the clinical pharmacy practice at MAHEC in conducting implementation research in their clinics and residency programs (family medicine, OB/Gyn, dentistry, psychiatry, general surgery and pharmacy). Applicants with social science, public health, and health professional background possessing the experience, skills, and qualifications are encouraged to apply. MAHEC is also interested in implementation research on other integrated professions, such as behavioral health, psychiatry, dieticians and physical therapy. The successful candidate will maintain a research portfolio consistent with one or more of these areas.

Educational Requirements/Qualifications and Experience

-PhD, PharmD, or equivalent doctoral degree with training in implementation science or a related area from an accredited institution.

-Possess a track record of peer‐reviewed publications that demonstrate scientific contributions in their respective field.

‐ Develop and maintain an extramurally funded research program and serve as a mentor in this area.

‐ Provide professional and graduate student instruction and serve the University and their discipline.

‐ Participate in a collegial environment that fosters ongoing collaboration with local community partners, healthcare partners, and faculty from a wide variety of disciplines
