We are pleased to announce an opening for a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) Training Instructor with the University of Pennsylvania’s Beck Community Initiative (BCI). Since 2007, Penn’s BCI has served as a model for the successful implementation of CBT in community behavioral health settings, increasing access to evidence-based treatment for economically, culturally, and ethnically diverse populations in the United States and in Low and Middle Income Countries. Under the direction of Torrey A. Creed, Ph.D., the focus of the position will be on consulting directly with community mental health care organizations and their clinicians to implement and sustain high-quality CBT to support children, adolescents, or adults in their recovery from mental and behavioral health issues. Experiences will include the development and systematic use of strategies to implement and sustain CBT in community practice settings, adaptation of CBT training for specific populations, delivery of intensive CBT training and consultation, and evaluation of implementation outcomes. Participation in research, grant writing, IRB activities, manuscript preparation, and other academic and administrative endeavors may also be part of the experience. The position is open immediately, and applications are being accepted on a rolling basis. The position will be for at least two years, with the second year contingent on funding at the end of year one.
Qualifications: Applicants who have earned a Ph.D., Psy.D., or equivalent in psychology, social work, or related disciplines with training in Cognitive Therapy / CBT or implementation science are encouraged to apply. Applicants with an M.A., M.S., M.S.W., or related degree, with Cognitive Therapy/CBT expertise and supervision experience, will also be considered.
